Michael Cormier Artist

My name is Michael Cormier and I grew up in Margaree Forks. I am a retired dentist and a part time artist, living in Chéticamp, NS. I paint with oil, acrylic and watercolour, do woodworking projects such as intarcia and relief carvings. I also work with clay and have created many stained glass pieces. I attribute much of my artistic side to my father’s influence who was a highly regarded stone mason and bricklayer. From the age of ten, under the guidance of my dad I began flaunt my creative side in wide ranging stonework. This creativity continued throughout my adult years in much of my artwork. I also had the opportunity to be mentored by a well known abstract painter from Chimney Corner, Jacque Hurtibise. Over the years I created many paintings under the watchful eye of Jacque.
